Titan signs on as co-sponsor of Pepsi Little People's

The Little People’s Golf Championships Association has announced the addition of Titan International as a co-title sponsor of the long-running tournament. Titan International joins Pepsi in its sponsorship of the Little People’s Golf Championships and Collegiate Golf Championships. Pepsi has been with the events since 1974.

“Titan’s involvement with this international junior golf event will be a great boost to the tournament,” said Nan Ryan, Little People’s executive director. “The relationship between Pepsi and Titan will make it possible for us to offer more services to the players, and to attract more golfers to Quincy (Ill.) from all over the world.”

Titan signed on for sponsorship after the local news aired a segment announcing the possiblity that the tournament would not return to Quincy after 2011. Mony Taylor, Titan’s CEO/Chairman of the Board, said the company couldn’t let that happen.

“Several of the girls we see at our LPGA (Futures Tour) event, the Ladies Titan Tire Challenge, have grown up playing in the Little People’s Golf Championships,” Taylor said. “These are wonderful professionals that Little People’s has helped develop and Quincy is lucky to be a part of that. Titan is proud to come alongside Pepsi to keep this tournament in Quincy where it belongs.”

The junior tournament is slated for June 20-22 at three golf courses in Quincy.
